The February 25th edition of Circus History Live! featured Kim "Kip" Jones and some surprise guests discussing the history and legacy of the legendary King Charles Troupe! When they joined Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in 1969, they became the first major African American circus act in American circus history. Since then, the King Charles Troupe have thrilled audiences all over the world with their comedic, high-energy, razzle dazzle-style basketball game on unicycles. They were inducted into the Circus Ring of Fame in 2020.
This episode was hosted by Circus Historical Society vice president Chris Berry.
