Registration

  • This ticket is for admission to only the banquet which will be held on Tuesday August 6 at noon.
  • The per person CHS Member Late Registration Rate is limited to members and their guests. It includes admittance to the reception, presentations, banquet and the auction.
  • The Full-time Academic Registration Rate is limited to full-time teaching and other academic staffers, whether or not they are CHS Members. It includes admittance to the reception, presentations, banquet, and the auction.
  • The Full-time Student Registration Rate is limited to full-time students, whether or not they are CHS Members. It includes admittance to the reception, presentations, banquet, and the auction.
  • This rate is just for the activities on SUNDAY August 4. No admission to any other days of the convention.
  • This rate is just for the activities on MONDAY August 5. No admission to any other days of the convention.
  • This rate is just for the activities on TUESDAY August 6 including the banquet. No admission to any other days of the convention.
  • This rate is just for the activities on WEDNESDAY August 7 including the Auction. No admission to any other days of the convention.

Circus Historical Society Convention 2024

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Register today for the fabulous 2024 Circus Historical Society Convention that will begin on August 4. 

Program

This year's event features amazing circus history presentations by more than twenty noted historians, authors, and scholars and by several circus professionals, including five Circus Ring of Fame inductees! One of those inductees, world-renowned circus artist Bello Nock will give the feature presentation in which he will discuss circus history and culture from his perspective as a seventh generation member of one of the circus world's royal families.   

There will also be an interesting panel about big city tented circuses with Paul Binder (Big Apple Circus), Ramon Vazquez, (Circus Vazquez) and Cedric Walker (UniverSoul Circus). Our annual banquet will include a first-ever presentation by Stasia and Monika Kelly about growing up with their dad, Emmett Kelly, Sr., and our amazing auction will feature many rare posters, books, and circus memorabilia. We will also have an opportunity to visit the circus history research collection at the Rose Library at Emory University. If you like circus history, you don't want to miss this convention!

Registration

CHS Members and their guests can register at the rate of $240 per person. The Non-member rate of $300 per person includes a one-year membership and subscription to Bandwagon. The full-time Academic rate is $150, and the full-time Student rate is $125. Registration fees include admittance to all presentation sessions and to the reception, banquet, and auction. One Day Only Rates are also available to anyone who wants to attend only one day of the convention. See REGISTRATION section for details.

Cancellation Refunds: 50% from July 1 to July 31 - No refund after July 31.

CHS Members who are not logged on to the CHS Back Yard (members-only) site will need to authenticate to register at the Member Rate. To register by mail, click here to download the mail-in registration form.
